Product Description
Do you have thousands of pictures from the past on 35mm film? Would you like to preserve them forever as digital image files? Would you like an easy way to share them? The Wolverine Data F2D100 Film-to-Digital Scanner is a unique device that reads your old 35mm film and converts (up to) 5 megapixel digital image files. The file can be stored directly to an SD memory card or transferred to your PC via USB port. Now you can take all those stacks of 35mm film and convert them into JPEG digital images to preserve them forever. It only requires a push of button; no computer or software is needed. Use it right out of the box and while you are watching TV to convert all your old photos by simply plugging it into an AC outlet or any USB port. All images are saved directly on an SD memory card for your convenience to instantly play them on the unit, through your digital picture frame or upload them to your computer. With the Wolverine F2D-100 you can save thousands of dollars by doing your own conversions instead of taking them to a photo shop and getting charged up to a dollar per image.

5 out of 5 stars EASY TO USE & GREAT VALUE   July 16, 2009

Some reviews here are outdated. I got mine 7/09, and spent that afternoon at my kitchen table scanning over 500(!) thirty yr old slides and b&w negatives (viewed as positives on the F2D). The instructions booklet isn't bad, the F2D is one of the easiest things to use you're going to find; a quick call to Wolverine about one item also got me a helpful techie immediately. The complaints in some other reviews about awkward slide and neg holders has now been solved, as the well-designed little unit now comes with two quality hinged magnetic-latched holders that were simple to load with 4 slides or a 6 neg filmstrip. The little viewing screen displays in full color from slides while scanning. Scanning plus saving each scan to the included standard 1 GB SD card was lightning fast (about 4 seconds), and the simple upload to my computer via included USB cable went smoothly, or you can also do it from any SD card reader. This little device did surprisingly well with the images, tho I'd forgotten about occasional slide & neg water spots and dust that aren't a problem with my current digital camera, but definitely can show up on these scans. (As a precaution, I use a can of compressed air to blow out the scanner interior and remove any inadvertent dust on slides & negs). In short, this creative device easily allows you (or your 5 yr old), at a minimum, to reactivate old images you have that aren't doing you much current good, improve on them in any imaging program you have (I use Photoshop Elements), plus you can then copy them to a DVD and send to relatives! I love this thingie!! May this company prosper!

5 out of 5 stars Excellent way to preserve slides   December 25, 2008

I used my wolverine to scan several hundred slides that I thought were lost forever to a "rotating tray"...I can now enjoy them on my computer, e-mail the pictures & print out the special ones. The clarity was great...It was simple to use. My 2 complaints are I wish the view screen was a bit larger as my eyes aren't as good as they used to be & I copied some slides backwards. The other complaint is I wish the slide holder held more than 3 slides as it was time consuming loading/unloading the slides 3 at a time. Overall it worked perfectly!

5 out of 5 stars Wolverine camera film to digital images scanner converter   January 9, 2010

To anyone who has boxes of slides and haven't seen them in 20 years but remember that they had taken great pictures of family and friends, trips and parties... this is the converter for you.

You put 4 slides in at a time or 4 film negatives. You can see the image on the screen of the Wolverine. You can then save it to computer or delete. Once in your computer you can play with the images any way you want using a photo shop program.

It is easy to use and allows you to save images to your computer or a flash drive. Once you are done saving you can use a Photo Shop program to clean up or enhance your slide images. You can then download any of the slide folders you have created to one of those photo frames and there are all your memories.

If I can put 4 slides in the tray at a time and save them to my computer with a touch of a button - believe me anyone can.

I had over 1000 pictures to transfer. It only took about 2 hours. Easy to slip the slides in and save them on the card. I looked for months and settled on this one. I would purchase this if you want to view what you copy. Make sure that your slides or pictures don't have dust on them...it will show.

I odered this unit one month ago and recieved it within 3 days. I was like everyone else, a little skeptical about going this route but I wanted something that was stand alone. I am extremely happy with the results. I was concerned about the quality and durability of the unit. After scanning 24,691 slides and negatives covering the last 45 years I can heartily recommend this unit to anyone and everyone. The quality of the results is outstanding. Some of my slides were beginning to fade with time, but the Wolverine scanned them with no problems. The only downside is that occasionally the unit would 'freeze', requiring me to reboot the unit, which was no big deal. I would strongly recommend this unit to anyone and everyone.
